The Skolkovo Foundation has signed an agreement with Finland’s Turku Science Park to build a 200 million euro biotechnological Technopark at the Skolkovo Innovation Center
Skolkovo-based BioCity will cover an area of 30 thousand square meters with the design stage of the project to be completed by the end of 2016. The project is to be constructed by the end of 2018.
BioCity will be built by a Finnish development company Capital Development Group. The project will also be designed by Finish architectural firm Lundån Architecture Oy.
Skolkovo BioCity will be very similar to the existing technopark in Turku, Finland.
According to the Skolkovo Foundation:
The creation of such a center in Skolkovo will radically change the situation on the market of biotechnologies in Russia. The BioCity center will become a source of world-class projects in Russia and a center of unique competencies for Russian research organizations, innovative small businesses, and pharmaceutical companies.
